This free tool helps you compose a Research Transparency Statement (RTS) for your manuscript that aligns with the policies of Psychological Science. The tool uses the journal's standard language when possible, but allows you the flexibility to edit anything manually if you need to.
- Answer the questions In the Statement Builder panel on the left, answer questions about your research.
- Watch the live preview As you answer questions, an RTS will build in the Statement Preview panel on the right.
- Use the guidance icons Click the ⓘ icon to read the journal's policies for each disclosure statement.
- Use the navigation tabs Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate between the General Disclosures section and Study Sections. Add new studies as necessary.
- Manually edit if necessary Click any statement in the Preview to manually edit it. Click the ↻ button on a statement to revert to the auto-generated wording.
- Copy the final statement When you're done, copy the statement and paste it into your manuscript.
- Reset all Use the ↺ Reset all button in the upper right to discard everything and start fresh.
Notes
- The app is not designed for use on a mobile phone, only laptop/desktop.
- A green "saved" indicator in the upper right of the app indicates that your work is being auto-saved to this browser — you can come back later and your draft will still be here. If the indicator is amber, drafts are not being saved due to a technical problem.
- If you are preparing a Stage 1 Registered Report, toggle the switch in the upper right of the app.
